A picture of Yang Guifei, one of the Four Beauties of Ancient China, for my friend's upcoming birthday. According to legends, she was so beautiful that the spring flowers refused to bloom out of embarrassment.

As for the actual picture, I'm not too big on her clothes or her jewelry. Originally I wanted it to be OMG SUPER DETAILED but due to sheer laziness, she became like this. Oh and peonies. I kinda looked at a few peony pictures, and then just crapped out whatever I *thought* peonies looked like (Warning: DO NOT DO THAT). The design on the fan took me a while: I wanted to yoink a Chinese design or painting off of Google, but since I am a good law-abiding citizen*, I decided to paint my own crappy imitation of a hand-painted fan, complete with a imitation stamp. If you look at it really really closely on my original file, you'll see that all I did was add some blobs.

Originally, there was going to be calligraphy on the picture, but my handwriting in Chinese is terrible (then again, my handwriting in general is pretty bad, so whatever), plus I am not cool enough to create another Chinese poetry pertaining to this picture. As a result, there's more blank spaces than there should be, OTL.

Consort Yang Yuhuan (楊玉環 ) (June 1, 719 — July 15, 756), often known as Yáng Guìfēi (simplified Chinese: 杨贵妃; traditional Chinese: 楊貴妃; pinyin: Yáng Guìfēi) (with Guifei being the highest rank for imperial consorts at her time), known briefly by the Taoist nun name Taizhen (太真 ) was one of the Four Beauties of ancient China. She was the beloved consort of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang for many years. During the Anshi Rebellion, as Emperor Xuanzong was fleeing from the capital Chang'an to Chengdu, she was killed because his guards blamed the rebellion on her powerful cousin Yang Guozhong and the rest of her family.
